                                             When I say, my friend…

I mean, we are not necessarily blood-related,

But you are what I refer to as ‘an extension of my family'

I mean that- I love you all the same

And will not be judgemental of you

It means that- I will call on you

When I need someone to laugh at my 'dry, boring jokes'

I mean, you are the one I will turn to when I'm gloomy and need a glee

You will be my confidant, without an iota of distrust

You will tell me, it's okay to make mistakes

And not define me by the naivety of my choices

You will have my back, and not watch me walk into a ditch

When I slip, you will support and lift me up, without reproach or rebuke

You will never betray me, nor I, you

For when things don't go my way,

I will say, “my friend has always been there for me”...

Never envious of each other, but

Forever rejoicing in our successes, together,

Picking each other up…when down

'Cause you are indeed

My 'true friend'!

The time finally came!

I was out all day yesterday. When I say” the whole day, I mean THE BETTER PART OF THE DAY”! I was a tourist guide”. I had to take out guests (couples) on a tour of our popular Festival Mall at Kempton Park . They are here for a management training, and are lodged in our B&B.I had no idea I would be doing so much walking. Else, I would have worn something more comfy’. My toes were seriously complaining, killing me softly. I eventually ended up walking without shoes (I had socks on though). Even if I hadn’t, I couldn’t care less! I just had to get those shoes off my sore feet. I had never taken anyone shopping for ten hours!Please don’t ask, I was on duty! After all that, I still had to return home to be a mother and a wife. I had to cook and make dinner for everyone.And that I did! I had been on some medication and it came in handy.I doubt I would have stood for another hour if I hadn't take the meds. DARE TO DREAM!

It is not a sin to dream...I find comfort in having fantasies sometimes.I remember the things I used to wonder about as a child.The power of imagination is so strong it makes your day-dream almost a reality.What I still do till date is imagine what life would be like,having no pressure this much and a tranquility instead.But I agree that life without an adventure is boring,dry and uninteresting...Still,there are times I just wish I could be whisked away to some farm house or some country home,where all you see is natural.A place where you'll be awoken by the cooing and whistling of birds,where the stream flows gently without turbulence,where you can hear the King of the jungle roar,yet not be afraid.A place where you can take walks and not fear for your life.A serene place where everyone knows and appreciates sharing the same neighbourhood,where kids can explore their childhood curiousity,where everyone's concerned about everyone's safety...I dream of just going some place ...

Jammed thoughts....

I just had to break the jinx this morning before I get down to serious jacking,as my people will call it.It's almost at freezing point outside,even wehn we're near spring...God help us!My hands were so cold this morning I couldn't feel any blood flowing.I tried warming it up in my pockets,but even the winter suit couldn't hold that much.I had to boil some water using the electric kettle because I didn't put on the geyser last night--saving energy.That's me for you!And I poured some into my kids' plastic cups-one for each and soaked my two palms in...It wasn't soothing.That contact is definately not a good one...I mean,it's like ice falling into a water at boiling point.But I had to bear it..I still do not have a description for that feeling.But it definately wasn't fun.I had to,I just had to put the clothes on the line and it just reminded me that there're no basements in SA.I remember winter period in England.We dried some of the clothings i...
